Çimsa Combines Global CAC Capacity with Innovation for High-Performance Industrial Applications
CAC’s resistance to extreme heat, chemical aggression, and mechanical wear makes it indispensable in refractory systems, industrial furnace linings, mining infrastructure, and steel refining processes where conventional cement cannot perform. In addition, its rapid hardening and early strength development make CAC an important binder in construction chemicals and specialized building materials.

Expanding Global CAC Capacity:
To support growing international demand, Çimsa is planning to complete a capacity expansion at its Mersin facility in the first half of 2026, which will enable the company to supply approximately 20% of global CAC demand outside China.
The Mersin plant remains the only facility in the world capable of producing gray cement, white cement, and CAC within a single integrated production site, reflecting Çimsa’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and decades of expertise in high-value specialty materials.
Innovation with a Focus on Commercial Impact:

One example is DURO, a calcium aluminate-based (CA) flux developed specifically for high-quality steel production. Engaging with the Global Refractory Industry:
Çimsa recently participated in the 61st Annual Symposium on Refractories, organized by the Refractory Ceramics Division of The American Ceramic Society in St. Louis, bringing together leading refractory producers, industry experts, and academic researchers from across the global refractory ecosystem.
During the symposium, Çimsa engaged with key stakeholders from the refractory industry and highlighted its portfolio of CAC-based refractory binders, the REFRO series, and DURO refining materials.
The event also provided an important platform for discussing evolving industry needs and exploring collaboration opportunities with refractory manufacturers and research institutions, particularly in the United States market, where demand for advanced refractory solutions and high-performance industrial materials continues to grow.
Through its participation, Çimsa shared insights into the role of CAC in next-generation refractory systems while demonstrating how innovation-driven solutions such as DURO can contribute to improved efficiency, longer refractory service life, and more sustainable industrial processes.
